Transport & Gen. Services Ministry
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteems other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who…made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant ” (Philippians 2:3-5, 7).
Christian service is given to us by example throughout the entire Bible revealing a wonderful lifestyle filled with blessings and opportunities. Living out our perception of how Christ lived, as a servant to others, is the ultimate example after which we ought to fashion our lives. Christian service is shown through numerous examples of both women and men, both in the Bible and in the church’s history.
At the heart of any church vision is its work force: believers who live by righteous example, perhaps without the gifting or suitability for leadership. The Transport & General Services ministry is where we can find among other ministries the embodiment of true servanthood.
The ministry’s responsibility is not limited to keeping the church premises clean and orderly and setting up props and musical instruments for the worship service but also transporting members and visitors of the church to and from different church functions like Bible studies.
The provision of sufficient number of working vans, committed drivers and members to keep up with the church needs is indeed something the church is blessed with, a reason to thank God for.
