God called me in the ministry in an unexpected way. On January 1, 1961, I received water baptism, along with my grandfather. That was not in my plan. Things just fell into place. However, I believe it was God who orchestrated it to happen.
On hindsight, was there a Biblical verse that leapt out at you and spoke to you as you soul-search and seek affirmation from God of His calling?
There is no specific verse in the Bible that God revealed to me. But He used our pastor to speak to me and affirm my calling. I began by leading the youth Sunday school and worship service.
How easy or difficult was it for you to arrive at a decision to become a pastor? If it was quite a struggle for you, how did God ease your doubts or fears and bring you to the point of submission?
There was no struggle at all. I fully surrendered my life to God. I submitted myself to our pastor by whole-heartedly doing what he told me to do.
How did you prepare yourself for pastoral work?
I enrolled at the Luzon Bible Institute in Binalonan, Pangasinan, where I obtained training in the Word of God and all the trappings required to become a pastor. From August 1963 to March 1964, I was appointed by our District Superintendent as a student pastor of a church in Sobal, Asinpan, Pangasinan.
Why do you think God called you to be a pastor? What areas in church ministry are you most uniquely gifted in?
I believe that my gifting is in the area of preaching and teaching.
How did you become part of BCF?
My wife and I arrived in Bahrain on April 20, 1985. In a temporary flat where we stayed, I met a group of Filipinos who told me about BCF and invited to fellowship with them. I began to attend BCF the night after we came to Bahrain.
What are your immediate plans for the Church Base Bible Study?
I would like to continue to strengthen and encourage all members of this group to continue to have unity in one spirit to fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission in our area for for the glory and honor of our God the Father and our Lord Savior Jesus Christ.
