Pastor Alan Clavecillia

Pastor Alan Clavecilla is an associate pastor looking after BCF-Area 2. His area includes Adliya, Mahooz, Umm Al Hassam, Juffair, and Mina Salman. He has been with BCF since 1985. |
God-led impulse which, as in his experience, often stubbornly refuses to go away.
“God is serious when He speaks,” Pastor Alan said. In a nutshell, that was the spiritual understanding dawning on him as he weighed the prospect of becoming an associate pastor at Bahrain Christian Fellowship (BCF). “The key to obedience is to start where you can. For certain, things will fall in their proper place, because God will make things happen for you. He did say He will bless the work of our hands.”
The work of Pastor Alan’s hands began in 1985, when he stepped up to the plate and started teaching in Bible studies soon after he arrived in Bahrain from the Philippines and joined BCF. In 1999, he was given the oversight for the Muharraq Bible study in an interim capacity, a responsibility that made him the de facto pastor of that area. Then much later, his responsibilities were expanded to Area 2, where he made a once-a-month visit to teach in weekly Bible studies.
His faithful labor in God’s work caught the eye of the BCF leadership. A few years ago, he was asked if he might consider being an associate pastor. At that time, Pastor Alan did not think it was necessary; for all intents and purposes, he was serving as one anyway, although without the official title.
However, in the grind of ministry work and in ways only God can orchestrate, Pastor Alan’s teaching series on obedience became the key to his own obedience. “I realized as I went deeper into the Word of God I was in effect disobeying God when I was giving Him my partial obedience,” he said. “My sense of responsibility has since been heightened.”
By the way, let us not forget music also throbs in Pastor Alan’s heart. He told
the story of how, as choir director, he kept on pushing one of his singers to perform solo. After some hesitation, the singer agreed and, in the process, discovered his singing prowess that Pastor Alan already knew. “Come to think of it: not everybody is being asked to do something. Propositions are not birthed overnight; they often come through some deliberation. The bottomline is, you are being asked because people believe you can,” Pastor Alan said.
He knows whereof he speaks.
