Happy but not surprised

My family and I are some of the many victims of the bad economy that hit Bahrain.
It was May of 2010 when my salary started to get delayed as our company (real estate) was badly hit by the economic crisis. At first, the company was able to pay us 2-3 months salaries after being delayed for five months. This situation went on until the end of 2011. It was just a good thing that just at the time my salaries started getting delayed, my wife found a job.
But things got worse in 2012. I received no salaries whatsoever as my company simply didn't have the capability to pay its employees anymore. But the difficulty didn't stop. My wife got very sick and was hospitalized. And because of that, she was terminated from work as she was thought to be "not physically fit".
My wife's salary was the only constant income we had. For four months we did not have any income but God works in mysterious ways. He used people as channels of blessings. He gave me four part time jobs!
But I did not quit my job. People asked and doubted if I will ever get paid, and how will I ever get my family out of this very difficult situation. They even wondered how can I still smile and laugh! But not once did I doubt God. I never questioned His ways. I kept on and held on to His words in Matthew 6:33 that said But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. I also held fast to Jeremiah 29:11 that said For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I did not become weary, I did not become anxious. My faith never wavered because I knew, and I know the God who I put my faith into - He is the God of the heavens and the earth. He is the most powerful one, and He knows what is best for me.
Throughout this whole situation, my family and I became closer to God. We were happy in the midst of it all. We decided to lift it all up to Him and let Him take over.
God also used this situation to be a witness to others. When they saw the joy in our lives in the midst of the uncertainty, they wanted to have what we have! Because of this, they started attending church, decided to put Christ first in their lives.
Finally, after a year of waiting, God showed His glory once more. My company found a temporary solution and paid all our pending salaries. I am very happy, but not surprised. I knew this day would come, in God's perfect time.
...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. All Glory to God!
