BCF Dubai BBR Batch 2 and LG Disciplers’ Conference - September 11, 2016
The second Breaking Barriers Retreat (BBR) in BCF Dubai took place last 11th September 2016 in Avenue Hotel, Deira, Dubai. With a total of 19 participants, the BBR was well anticipated by many in the church. Pastors and workers from BCF Bahrain journeyed to the bustling metropolitan ofDubai with one mission: To teach, minister, and serve our fellow brothers and sisters in the city.
In the morning of the second day of the BBR, eight participants publicly declared their faith in Christ by being baptized in water. The swimming pool of the hotel seemed small, yet it was big enough to accommodate each of the eight eager individuals who have left their old lives and are now walking in the newness of their lives in Jesus Christ.Janice Tayag-Rosillo, one of eight, said “My life totally changed. Lahatng hindranceskosabuhay ay naisukokosaKanya, at nakipag-isaakosaKanya through the baptism…dahilsa BBR, my purpose now is to seek God and obey Him, in such a way that will bring Him glory.”
The conclusion of the BBR Dubai Batch 2 was followed by the LG Disciplers’ Conference the following day in the same hotel. Leaders of BCF Dubai were gathered to learn all about discipleship the way Jesus did it.
Eric Delos Reyes, one of the LG leaders of the church, shared one of the highlights for him in the conference: “Isa samganatutunankobilangisang LG leader ay kung paanokomaibabahagiangSalitangatingPanginoonsamga unbelievers, nakagayakodati,” he said. The conference came to a conclusion with a simple answer to a simple question: “Why do we do discipleship?” The answer is: “Because we love God and we love people.”
Although many of the workers from Bahrain were not able to join the Dubai trip as originally planned, the Lord’s work did not stop at all. Dan dela Cruz, one of the workers said it best: “God proved that He can move whether it be through many or through few.”
